While in Provence, we stayed in L’Isle sur La Sorgue, a charming quaint town completely surrounded by water. On market day, I spotted a small artist studio with some lovely work that drew my attention. As I stood looking through the window, a woman approached me, and I was fortunate enough to meet this talented artist, Aurélie Alvarez.
We discussed her work, and she invited me to visit her personal atelier. By chance a few days later, I ran into her in a neighbouring town and ended up purchasing one of her pieces. It was too much of a coincidence to ignore.
In her geometric work, Aurelie seeks to explore the balance of spirituality and science, inspired by both ancient Tibetan mandalas and the nature of matter. Contrastingly, her decorative work features brightly coloured playful florals and animals and a creative mixture of materials. Regardless of which theme you are drawn towards, Aurelie’s creative talent and originality are undeniably moving.
