Personally, I also have a history of swimming and an affinity for water, so it’s no wonder that Amelia’s work speaks to me. Earlier this fall, I found a vintage piece on Facebook Marketplace with incredible potential. The “before” version may not have looked like much at first glance, yet it had the bones and presence I knew could anchor my living room.

When our Prince Edward Island project demanded several large-scale yet lightweight fixtures in both the front entrance and dining room spaces, we knew that Propellor’s Cumulus series would be the perfect fit. Through their guidance, we selected the best shape and size for each fixture, and then they expertly packed and shipped them across the country.

Just before Mother’s Day, a car burst through their storefront at Park and Tilford shopping centre causing serious damage to the exterior and interior of their adorable shop. Constantin moved to Canada from Romania in 1995 and brought his Old World charm, strong work ethic, and mad painting skills with him. We met in Ottawa in 2004 and became fast friends. I soon convinced him to leave his day job and dedicate himself to his painting business full-time. (I admit it was a bit self-serving.)

Fast forward to 2018 when he relocated to Vancouver, and we were finally able to commission his expertise again. He paints, installs all of our decorative trim work and wallpaper, and is a wiz at getting rid of those dreaded popcorn ceilings.
