This Lions Bay home was built in 1974 with beautiful post-and-beam construction and a mid-century feel our clients love. Though they initially contacted us about furnishing the home, we helped them fall in love with a design plan that would include lighter spaces, optimized nature views, and more modern spaces for hosting and entertaining.
To realize the vision, we started by covering the original cedar plank ceilings with white shiplap. Doing so opens up the space, makes the large beams pop, and hides much-needed electrical wiring for better lighting. Next, we fully renovated the kitchen with up-to-date amenities, sleek custom cabinetry, and teal blue paint that makes the Georgia Strait look even closer. We custom designed a banquette attached to the kitchen peninsula and paired it with a stunning dining table in white oak.
In the living room and lounge, we created social spaces designed for comfort, longevity, and soaking in every angle of their spectacular ocean and mountain views. Design is all about crafting an experience.
